These are dangerous times. The government is waging a war on all of us. There are many theories about how to resist and fight back, but most are ineffective. The world’s prisons bulge with millions of our brothers and sisters, guilty of the “crime” of wanting to get high. You have probably come to our website because you have either been messed over by the War on Drugs -- or you’re concerned about the possibilities.

If you don’t know much about political activism, we won’t hold it against you. If you’re an experienced, seasoned activist, you’ll find some new ideas here. GREEN PANTHERS! created this site as a resource and information center for drug law reform activists worldwide. The War on Drugs, as you will learn, is a world war in every sense of the word.

So who are GREEN PANTHERS! and how can they help you? GREEN PANTHERS! was organized by pro-marijuana activists in 1990 in response to the lack of political success by mainstream drug law reform organizations. Early pot movement successes for industrial hemp and medical use of marijuana, many of which have since been negated, did not include the largest part of the culture – the recreational user. GREEN PANTHERS!, while deeply supporting the two other issues, champions the call for a legal buzz. “The bottom line,” we say, “Is the quest for a good time without fear.”

The leadership of the GREEN PANTHERS! are activists who have tried – and abandoned – most of the methods used by existing drug law reform groups, because they simply do not work. This does not mean we dislike those who wish to put energy into such tactics; it just means we choose to put our energies into more productive directions.

Think about it, do you really believe your letter to a politician makes any difference? Do you really believe that your vote for president actually counts? If you do, you may be too naïve for us. However, if you’re pretty sure your letter gets thrown in the trash, and that if voting could really change things, the government would make it illegal – you’re thinking like a Panther!

Acts of protest, civil disobedience and direct action marked the first few years of GREEN PANTHERS! activities. The government-controlled media responded by censoring GREEN PANTHERS! protests out of the news. That very type of censorship has since turned most pro-pot demonstrations into nonevents.

The passage of the 1992 Omnibus Crime Bill, declaring many pro-pot groups “drug gangs” for their political activities around Cannabis Buyers Clubs, complete with mandatory minimum sentences, forced us to rethink our strategies. As government tactics further negated GREEN PANTHERS! direct action protests against government buildings and drug war concentration camps, new methods had to evolve. GREEN PANTHERS! leadership took a hard look at the real-world politics of our oppressors and other politically active groups in the United States. What we found was disturbing.

Within the United States, many groups are openly preparing for what could be a twenty-sided civil war, complete with ethnic and cultural cleansing. The rapid growth of separatist movements indicates that large segments of society have also recognized that working through the system is futile and are trying to break away peacefully. GREEN PANTHERS! studied these groups and found that almost all of the militant groups, regardless of their political persuasion, believe that the Drug War is a good idea and they wish they were running it. Many of them look forward to the day they can freely gun-down potheads in the streets!

The study further revealed that, beginning in the sixties, the Cannabis culture began a quiet migration to northern California and spread further north into Canada. With the advent of the War on Drugs, that migration has increased dramatically. This political analysis inspired the only strategy that will save the world’s marijuana-using culture–a separate, independent Cannabis smokers’ homeland.

GREEN PANTHERS! also realized that with all the confiscations of personal belongings in the name of the Drug War, our people outside the migration area had less to hold them down, making it easier for them to relocate. We saw real possibilities for cultural political action untried in all of history.

Initially, other groups scoffed at our predictions of how bad the War on Drugs was going to get, but as time has passed and the war has worsened, they have come to realize that we are absolutely right. There has been an uninterrupted series of defeats for legalization activists from coast to coast. When our movement attains a victory, the federal government (with or without the assistance of state governments) steps in and turns a victory into a defeat. All avenues for peaceful, constructive change are either closed, or being closed. There was, and is, a real need for a revolutionary militant philosophy in our culture--GREEN PANTHERS!

GREEN PANTHERS! is an attitude; a spirit of resistance. Every GREEN PANTHERS! activist is an autonomous Drug War resister. No dues to pay, nothing for the police to infiltrate and destroy. Revolutionary Times and Radio Free Ganjastan connect activists across the country and around the world, letting you know what the enemy is up to and how you can fight back effectively.

GREEN PANTHERS! is made up of a wide variety of people with a wealth of skills. In our ranks are military veterans, teachers, factory workers, hippies, migrant workers, prisoners behind the walls, scientists and wage slaves. They are our network, providing information in their fields, clippings from their local newspapers, emailing us news stories and eyewitness reports from around the world. In turn, many of them analyze and interpret information that we send to them. Having such a rich base of skilled activists pouring information into our offices has enabled us to provide accurate predictions of political trends in the United States. You can join in too!

The War on Drugs is the meal ticket for the Department of Defense and an easy way for politicians to look tough. But the War on Drugs is only one of several strong political dynamics that are pulling the country apart. The government has done an excellent job of keeping people ignorant of what is happening, but the GREEN PANTHERS! will give you the straight dope.

Police and even military abuses of peace-loving potheads continue to destroy homes, families and jobs. Convictions for Cannabis possession have resulted in the disenfranchising and disarming of huge numbers of our people, and it's going to get worse.

GREEN PANTHERS! says that the United States hasn’t long to live. Soon it will shatter in an orgy of ethnic and cultural cleansing. No power/s on Earth can stop what is already in motion.  America is doomed. GREEN PANTHERS! invites Drug War victims and those living in fear of Gestapo-like raids to join your culture in genuine freedom in the Republic of Ganjastan.

Times ahead for the pot and drug using counterculture are probably going to be tough. But take heart, we have the strategy that can save our people even if every other group’s methods of fighting against the War on Drugs falls to defeat.
